OMKARA CAPITAL – DAILY NEWSLETTER (8th July 2026)

All is well – a small bump in the long-term investor's journey

After a strong rebound over the past few months, the markets especially mid and small-caps are witnessing some profit booking, which is entirely normal. Crude oil was up nearly 5% last night on renewed tensions between the USA and Iran; while the war has ended, the posturing continues. For us, nothing has changed in terms of fundamentals.

However, we have consistently held the view that one should not be overly aggressive during the earnings season, given the pre-positioning, news flow, and speculative activity that typically build up ahead of results.

While we remain enthusiastic about the earnings season, please note that a few companies may see input cost-led margin compression this coming quarter, as inventories were not adjusted to the fall in crude prices.

Considerable excitement has already built up across stocks, prices, and the narratives currently making the rounds. As noted, we stay careful and measured during the earnings season — we prefer not to compete with the crowd chasing quick gains as results are reported.

Should there be any unusual panic in the stocks we have recommended, we will promptly reach out to you. For now, we prefer to remain calm and watchful, focused on learning from the earnings as they are reported and from management commentary.

When markets run high, discipline matters even more — and that is our edge. Kindly stay disciplined: avoid excessive risk-taking and high leverage, and most importantly, steer clear of untested stocks and the unsubstantiated narratives circulating in the market.

DYK: Kospi Index has fallen nearly 20% from recent highs amid so much of narratives on AI & memory chips and super strong earnings. Positioning & valuations matter.
