• Long Build-Up: 22 stocks saw an increase in OI and price, suggesting a build-up of long positions. Major ones: UNIONBANK, BIOCON, OIL, SBICARD, KALYANKJIL, etc.
• Short Build-Up: 101 stocks saw an increase in OI and a drop in price. Major ones: HCLTECH, IREDA, LTF, LICI, PAYTM, etc.
• Short-Covering: 35 stocks saw short-covering, where OI decreased with a price increase. Major ones: MCX, MARICO, CONCOR, TCS, PGEL, etc.
• Long Unwinding: 52 stocks saw a decline in open interest (OI) along with a fall in price, indicating long unwinding. Major ones: RBLBANK, BAJAJFINSV, GRASIM, TITAN, SBILIFE, etc.
• IBM's sharp 25% post-earnings decline may keep sentiment cautious for Indian IT stocks. However, any correction in the Nifty IT Index is likely to find first support near its 20-day EMA at 28,000, with the 26,500–27,000 zone acting as a long term weekly support.
• The rupee weakened further, with USDINR rising to 96.20, its highest level since 23 May. A sustained move above 96.50 could strengthen the case for an advance towards the 98 mark.
• FIIs trimmed positions in stock futures yesterday, reducing their net long positions by 82k lots to 5.46 lakh lots from 6.28 lakh lots.

• Biocon: Mylan exited its entire 5.64% stake (9.19 crore shares) via a ₹3,679 crore block deal at ₹400/share. The stake was largely absorbed by leading domestic mutual funds and global institutional investors.
• SG Mart: ADIA (0.89%) and PSP Investments (0.79%) acquired stakes at ₹650/share, while HR Global Manufacturing sold a 1.74% stake via a block deal.
