• Long Build-Up: 43 stocks saw an increase in OI and price, suggesting a build-up of long positions. Major ones: TRENT, MOTHERSON, BHARATFORG, BAJFINANCE, NAM-INDIA, etc.
• Short Build-Up: 99 stocks saw an increase in OI and a drop in price. Major ones: INFY, COFORGE, EXIDEIND, KPITTECH, INDIANB, etc.
• Short-Covering: 39 stocks saw short-covering, where OI decreased with a price increase. Major ones: HDFCLIFE, NTPC, PREMIERENE, ABCAPITAL, BHEL, etc.
• Long Unwinding: 30 stocks saw a decline in open interest (OI) along with a fall in price, indicating long unwinding. Major ones: SAMMAANCAP, PGEL, MAXHEALTH, GMRAIRPORT, VOLTAS, etc.
• FPIs remained net sellers across most sectors during (1–15 June 2026), with Financials (-₹11,263 crore), Oil & Gas (-₹10,488 crore), and Auto (-₹9,044 crore) witnessing the sharpest outflows. Telecom (+₹373 crore) and Services (+₹302 crore) were among the few sectors to attract inflows.
• Despite weakness in the IT sector on Friday, Nifty managed to hold above the crucial 24,000 mark and ended the week with a gain of 1.65%. Going ahead, 23,800 remains an important support level. As long as the index stays above it, Nifty can move towards 24,500.
• FII positioning in FNO futures remains cautious, with net long Stock Futures exposure declining from 7.90 lakh to 6.33 lakh contracts over the past week. Net short positions in Index Futures remain stable at 2.26 lakh contracts, reflecting a guarded market stance.
